The study of Brazilian nature is central to Burle Marx\u2019s art. He worked as a botanist and researcher, traveling throughout the country in search of plant species\u2014from those of the cerrado and the Amazon to those of the northeastern sert\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initially characterized by still lifes featuring motifs from Brazilian flora, between 1939 and 1940, his painting began to incorporate formal solutions from Cubism, with sinuous lines and subdued colors. When painting cities, he employed straight lines, geometric shapes, and discreet tones. From the 1950s onward, his abstract paintings began to feature many shades of blue, green, and yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also produced numerous ink drawings inspired by the intertwining of leaves and branches. Although inspired by nature, his work is essentially abstract, marked by the use of line and color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">His work is included in both private and corporate collections, nationally and internationally, such as the <strong>S\u00e3o Paulo Museum of Art (MASP)<\/strong>, the <strong>Inhotim Institute of Contemporary Art<\/strong>, the <strong>Brazilian Art Museum of the Armando \u00c1lvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP)<\/strong>, the <strong>Gilberto Chateaubriand Collection<\/strong>, the <strong>Roberto Marinho Collection<\/strong>, and the <strong>Collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/strong> (Itamaraty).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":2676,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":true},"class_list":["post-1360","artistas","type-artistas","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/flexagaleria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artistas\/1360","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/flexagaleria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artistas"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/flexagaleria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/artistas"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/flexagaleria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2676"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/flexagaleria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1360"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
